Colour
photograph of this species which originates from around
Neuquen and south of Mendoza, Argentina.
Stem
segments are 1-1.4 cm in diam.. Radiating spines 3-4 cm
long, soft to bristly. (The plant in the illustration is
a rather long spined form). Flower colour is a pinkish yellow.
Becoming more frequent in cultivation.
