Hydranges
anomala subsp. petiolaris (Hydrangeaceae family)
is the most commonly grown climbing Hydrangea. It comes
from Japan, Sakhalin, Korea and Formosa and grows to 15m or
more. It is deciduous and climbs by aerial roots like ivy.
Introduced in 1878. Often confused in nurseries with Schizophragma
hydrangeoides.
