Rosa
sericea subsp.
omiensis f. pteracantha
(syn: Rosa omiensis f. pteracantha) 19th
July 1999, Sunningdale
This
delightful rose has translucent blood-red thorns on this
year's stems. The flowers are single white and also very
beautiful so to get both, leave a few old stems for next
year (they will carry the flowers but have brown thorns)
and cut the rest to the ground for the above effect in summer
(Rosaceae family).
