Distribution in the wild: Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Iraq, in steppe, corn and fallow fields at 340-2200 m.
Flowering in the wild: May-August
kurdica means 'of the Kurdish lands'.

Herbaceous perennial 30-60(-70) cm. Herbaceous perennial 30-60 cm. Leaves stellate-lanate-tomentose (often whitish, especially below) oblong-ovate, obtuse, profoundly cordate at base, crenate margins, 5-12 × 3-8 cm; petiole to 11 cm. Floral leaves cordate-triangular to lanceolate, shortly petiolate. Three to seven whorls (lower ones distant) per stem, 8-10 flowered, stems simple or pyramidally branched. Bracteoles few, sometimes none, lanceolate, 1.5-5 mm, densely floccose. Calyx 15-18mm, densely stellate-tomentose with long spreading hairs, teeth nearly equal, subulate, 4-6 mm. Corolla yellow, 30-35 mm. Upper lip nearly as long as lower; width of lower lip 20 mm or more. Nutlets hairless.
